SleepTite is a peaceful instrumental lullaby performed on Finn’s resonator guitar (affectionately known as ‘Reggie’) with a bottleneck brass slide.
Finn: “The tune was born out of the search to find a tranquil place in my life, away from the chaos and turmoil.
Playing this resonator in open D tuning has been almost like discovering a new instrument. Such a departure from standard tuning.
The piece itself seemed to grow out of my soul and did indeed bring a tear to my eye once the jigsaw pieces of creation found their place.
Rather than create something with layers of percussion and orchestration, I wanted to focus on the pure tones, resonance, sustain and the spaces in between which I have recently discovered to be delightful from this instrument.”
